Merge Awards 2022 Celebrates Kingdom Culture
What happens when your favorite celebrity merges faith with entertainment? A star-studded celebration dripping melanin and gospel excellence!
The Merge Awards took over Beverly Hills Wilshire Hotel on Saturday, November 5, 2022 honoring some of the best artists, trailblazers and professionals in the industry.
A list of honorees include: Suzanne de Passe, PJ Morton, Charles D. King, and Stacey Walker King (MACRO), Israel Houghton, Romeo Miller, Adam Blackstone, James Dubose (FOX Soul), Morgan DeBaun (Founder of Blavity & Afrotech) and Angelica Nwandu (Founder, The Shade Room & The Same Room) & Stephanie Ike (Co-Founder of The Same Room).
Our host, LaCora Stephens, was on the scene and got a chance to speak with most of the honorees and their peers, along with the founders, Dr. Holly Carter, Robi Reed and Traci Blackwell, of The Merge Awards on the purple carpet.
Driven by a mission to celebrate, honor and inspire the next generation of leaders in music, film, television, business and ministry; the event, produced by Wright Productions, garnered attendance from Michael Ealy, Essence Atkins, AJ Johnson, Pastor Toure Roberts, Golden Brooks, Edwina Findley-Dickerson, Shelea Alex Isley, Devika Parikh, Suni MF, Herb Bohanon and more.
Traci Blackwell noted that, "It's not the easiest thing to do what a lot of these honorees are doing. We wanted to find people who were doing it in the spirit of Kingdom culture. And, we just wanted to make sure they received their flowers."
"Our job is to uplift culture. Are you walking? Are you shinning? Are you inspiring?", added founder, Dr. Holly Carter. Trailblazer recipient, Charles King, added "building" to the list and we couldn't agree more. He and his beautiful wife, Stacey Walker King discussed how their vision of building an entertainment and media compony.
